ABOUT RICH... AND THE BOOK
Rich Fields is a 40+ year television and radio broadcasting veteran. In addition to being an Emmy award winning TV meteorologist, Rich is also the former announcer of the popular CBS game show, The Price Is Right. Bob Barker personally hand-picked Rich as his new announcer of the popular game show in 2004 and Rich continued to work there through Bob Barker's retirement and the first three years of Drew Carey's reign as the new host. Rich Field is the only TPIR announcer to have worked with both Bob Barker and Drew Carey as the show's host.
Trust Your Inner GPS is Rich's true story of how he always knew that one day he would be working with Bob Barker at The Price Is Right. How did he know that? What told Rich that if he put in the work, that the cosmos would reward him with his dream-job? And once Rich got the job at Price, was it the job that he'd always dreamed it would be? Hollywood can be a cruel mistress... and Rich tells a nerve-wrecking story of the first time that the facade of Hollywood was lifted for him at his favorite TV game show. (Spoiler Alert: The incident took place backstage at The Price Is Right in Bob Barker's dressing room.)
The book, Trust Your Inner GPS is loaded with inside stories taken straight from backstage at The Price Is Right. Read about Rich's personal interaction (on-stage) with legendary announcer Johnny Olson after sneaking into CBS-Television City back in 1979. Read about Rich's conversations with Bob Barker in Bob's dressing room. Read about the models and what goes on backstage during show rehearsals. Read about the day when Bob walked into Rich's dressing room saying that he was retiring, along with the reasons why. Read about Rich's chance encounter with comedian Drew Carey in Las Vegas, years before hosting Price himself. This is must-read for any fan of Bob Barker and/or The Price Is Right.
